Leone Stool in Il Sole 24 ORE

This is the introduction of the Il Sole 24 Ore issue, titled “Da gregario a protagonista: tutte le facce dello sgabello” – From “assistant” to protagonist: all faces of the stool.

We are speaking about Leone, the stool created in cooperation with Michela Nardin of MNM Venezia for Casarialto Atelier project.

It combines the love for workmanship of glass and that for design, the Mosaics collection signed by the artist Michela Nardin for Casarialto. This stools, with a strong character decorative, have a ceramic core created by hand by an expert Venetian ceramist, later covered by mosaic tiles handcrafted by Orsoni, the last furnace still active in the historic center from Venice. These are precious objects that have the quality of the work of art, just think that to make the Barena stool it takes
4,700 mosaic tiles cut a hand and 63 hours of workmanship.

Leone is an handmade mosaic stool in black, skin and 24 carats gold.

We named this magnificent and powerfull stool LEONE. In our imaginary it’s geometrical pattern recalls the stools for the lion circus used by tamers during shows and at the same time the winged lion of St Mark in Piazza San Marco symbolically represents the city of Venice since centuries. Enriched with 24K gold patterns.
The Leone Stool is skillfully handmade of black, powder-white and gold mosaic tiles showcasing a majestic geometric motif that will create a bold focal point in a contemporary interior.
